Az elmúlt években a pszichopátiára jellemző érzelmi deficit kiemelkedő figyelmet kapott. Különösen a pszichopátiás zavar affektív komponense, az ún. rideg-érzéketlen (callous-unemotional, CU) vonások kerültek előtérbe, melyet a pszichopátia gyermekkori előzményeiként is vizsgálnak. Több empirikus kutatás is alátámasztja, hogy a CU vonásokkal jellemezhető antiszociális fiatalok – akárcsak a felnőtt pszichopaták – nehézséget mutatnak az érzelmi ingerek, különösen a negatív, distresszkeltő jelzések felismerésében és feldolgozásában. Jelen áttekintő tanulmány célja, hogy ismertesse, valamint rendszerezze azokat az elméleteket és vizsgálati módszereket, melyek erre a sajátos érzelmi zavarra vonatkoznak. A témában végzett vizsgálatok ugyanis meglehetősen eltérő feladatokkal, illetve mintával dolgoznak, ami megnehezíti az eredmények összehasonlítását. Mindazonáltal úgy tűnik, hogy a fiatalkori CU vonásokra jellemző érzelmi deficit a viselkedésbeli, a pszichofiziológiai, illetve a neurológiai válaszokban is megmutatkozik, ami a kora gyermekkori prevenció és intervenció fontosságára hívja fel a figyelmet, különös tekintettel az érzelmi feldolgozást fejlesztő programokra.
