Elméleti háttér: A Diener, Emmons, Larsen és Griffin (1985) által megalkotott Élettel való Elégedettség Skála (Satisfaction with Life Scale, SWLS) a szubjektív jólléttel kapcsolatos kutatások egyik leggyakrabban alkalmazott eszköze. Cél: A tanulmányban bemutatjuk az Élettel való Elégedettség Skála módosított magyar fordítását (SWLS-H), az azzal szerzett eredményeket, valamint elemezzük pszichometriai jellemzőit. Módszer: Az elemzéshez összesen nyolc keresztmetszeti adatfelvétel adatait használtuk fel (összesen N = 3805, férfi: 1547, nő: 2253). Az SWLS-H mellett szerepeltek a kérdőívcsomagokban a Rosenberg Önértékelés Skála, az Életcél Kérdőív (PIL) és az Élet Értelme Kérdőív (MLQ) magyar változatai is. A társas kívánatosság hatásának ellenőrzésére egy almintán felvettük az EPQ Hazugság Skáláját (EPQ-L), valamint több esetben rákérdeztünk a szubjektív egészségi állapotra és a szubjektív anyagi helyzetre is. Eredmények: Az SWLS-H konfirmatív faktorelemzése igazolta a kérdőív egydimenziós szerkezetét, ami a faktorsúlyok tekintetében invariánsnak bizonyult az egyes alminták között is. A kérdőív belső konzisztenciája (Cronbach-alfa stabilan 0,84 felett) és időbeli stabilitása is kiváló. A magasabb életkorú csoportoknál valamivel alacsonyabb elégedettséget találtunk, de a legerősebb pozitív előrejelzőnek a szubjektív anyagi helyzet bizonyult (béta = 0,304). Az SWLS-H értéke csekély mértékben korrelált az EPQ-L-pontszámmal, viszont összefüggött az élet értelmességének megélésével (PIL: r = 0,549, MLQ: r = 0,395), valamint az önértékeléssel (r = 0,429), továbbá pozitívan jelezte előre a szubjektív egészségi állapotot (béta = 0,219), függetlenül az élet értelmessége megélésének és az önértékelésnek a szintjétől. Következtetések: A bemutatott eredmények alapján az Élettel való Elégedettség Skála magyar változata megbízható és érvényes mérőeszköz, amely jól alkalmazható az élettel való elégedettség szubjektív tapasztalatának mérésére.
