A vizsgálat szociodemográfiai, valamint egyéni és magatartási változók dohányzásra és szeszesital-fogyasztásra gyakorolt hatását kívánja igazolni a serdülőkori erdélyi mintán. A 14 és 19 év közötti serdülők (N = 290) önkitöltéses kérdőíves vizsgálatának eredményei szerint a dohányzás életprevalenciájában a következő változók bizonyultak prediktornak: a jó magaviselet és a vallásos hit. Mind az élet-, mind pedig a havi prevalencia esetében a következő rizikótényezőket igazoltuk: az életkort, az egyszülős és újraalakult családi státust, a zsebpénzt, a dohányzó barátokat, a leszokási próbálkozást és a házon kívül töltött esték számát. A szeszesital-fogyasztás tekintetében prediktor tényezőnek bizonyult az életprevalencia szintjén az életkor, a havi prevalencia szintjén az anya iskolai végzettsége és a jó magaviselet, mind az élet-, mind pedig a havi prevalencia szintjén a szeszesital-fogyasztó barátok, a házon kívül töltött esték száma és a vallásos hit. A vizsgált összefüggések tekintetében az életkor és a kortárshatások többszörösen igazolt hatása mellett a mintára nézve kiemelt figyelmet érdemel a házon kívül töltött esték számának kockázatnövelő, a vallásos hitnek pedig a protektív szerepe.
