A serdülőkori táplálkozási magatartás szerepe meghatározó mind a pozitív bio-pszicho-szociális fejlődés folyamatában, mind a felnőttkori egészséges életmód kialakításában. Vizsgálatunk célja a táplálkozáskontrollal összefüggésbe hozható egyénszintű, családi és transzperszonális tényezők vizsgálata. Adatainkat 1977 erdélyi serdülőtől (15–19 évesek) nyertük, önkitöltős kérdőíves módszerrel. Eredményeink a táplálkozáskontrollban nemi és életkori sajátosságokat igazolnak. A táplálkozással kapcsolatos tudatosságban a kognitív-kontroll tényezők mellett kiemelt szerepet játszanak a családi és transzperszonális tényezők. A nemzetközi vizsgálati eredményekkel ellentétben mintánkban az énhatékonyságnak az étkezés magatartással kapcsolatos meghatározó szerepe nem igazolódik. Ezzel ellentétben felértékelődik a szülői bánásmód és az elégedettség a szülői támogatással, és bár nemekhez, valamint életkorhoz kötötten, de igazolást nyer a transzperszonális tényezők szerepe. Az egyénszintű jóllétmutatók szintén összefüggésben állnak az étkezési magatartással, igazolva, hogy a táplálkozáskontroll a fiatalok életminőségének meghatározó eleme.
