A cikkben összefoglaltuk a kompozit köpennyel megerősített beton- és vasbeton oszlopok irodalmát, és javaslatot adtunk egy „pontos”, triaxiális nyomásra kialakított növekményi beton anyagmodellen alapuló számítási módra. Az új modell alapján vizsgáltuk a kompozit merevségének hatását a teherbírásra kör keresztmetszetű beton oszlopok esetén. A kompozit köpeny megerősítéseknek csak azzal a típusával foglalkoztunk, ahol a kompozit szálak a betonoszlop felületén gyűrűirányban futnak, esetleg kis emelkedéssel vannak az oszlop felületére tekercselve, azaz a kompozit oszlop tengellyel párhuzamos irányú ellenállása elhanyagolható. Megállapítottuk, hogy i) a kompozit merevségének növelésével mintegy 5% teherbírás növelés érhető el, ii) nagyon merev kompozit alkalmazása esetén a teherbírás csökken, és iii) a leggyakrabban alkalmazott kompozitok esetén a merevség hatása viszonylag kicsi.
