Abstract  

Starting from a known scheme of separations by ion exchange resins, and having developed some eluants, it is possible to separate twenty-three elements without further handling than to pour the eluants into columns. Changes of medium after elution are avoided. The columns made with two kinds of resins are sometimes superimposed, in which case the eluate of the first column is used as eluant on the second column, and sometimes separated, in which case each column is treated separately. The scheme has been applied particularly to the aluminium matrix, but matrices of stainless steel and niobium have been treated in the same manner. From this versatile scheme, very simple and rapid separations may be imagined.
