Abstract  

A method for the determination of erbium by instrumental neutron activation analysis in rocks using 2.28 s167mEr has been developed. The technique employs pseudocyclic activation in an epithermal neutron flux and a detection limit of 0.5 g/g was attained. Eight international rock standards were analysed to test the method.
