Abstract  

A fire assay technique has been applied to lower the detection limit for the determination of iridium by neutron activation analysis of geologic samples. Nickel sulfide is used as collector. Detectable iridium was found in ultramafic rocks, correlating there positively with cobalt, nickel and chromium.
