Abstract

Intemolecular13C isotope effects in the decarbonylation of extra pure Merck liquid formic acid have been determined in the temperature interval 50–100 °C and compared to13C KIE observed in the decomposition of 99.9% liquid formic acid in the temperature range 60–100 °C. A very constants in the Arrhenius and Eyring equations have been calculated and found to be in a good agreement with the corresponding values ofBarham andClark.8
