Triangular predominance-region diagrams for plutonium

Abstract  

Two predominance region diagrams can be prepared by plotting the equilibrium fractions of hexavalent vs. trivalent plutonium. The diagrams are differentiated by the species that predominate near their origins. Both diagrams have a curved boundary that separates permissible from forbidden oxidation-state combinations.
