Resolution and Discovery is a Gold Open Access, peer-reviewed journal covering all kinds of microscopy in materials science and in life sciences, new developments on instrumentation and microscopy techniques. The journal provides a forum for the publication of original research papers of the following subject areas: structure and imaging of biomolecules and live cells; multidisciplinary approaches; materials for nanotechnology, metal alloys and intermetallics, ceramics, composites, minerals; scanning probe microscopy, 3D imaging and tomography.
The following subjects are covered by the journal (not exclusively)
Within life sciences: structure and imaging of biomolecules, live cell imaging, neurobiology, multidisciplinary approaches in biology and medicine, microscopic applications in plants, microorganisms and environmental sciences, super-resolution microscopy in biological sciences.
Within materials science: materials for nanotechnology, metal alloys and intermetallics, ceramics, composites, minerals, microscopy in cultural heritage, films, coatings, surfaces and interfaces, carbon based materials, semiconductors and magnetic materials.
Within instrumentation and techniques: Advances in scanning probe microscopy, 3D imaging and tomography, electron diffraction techniques and analytical microscopy, advances in sample preparation techniques, in situ microscopy, correlative microscopy in life and material science, low voltage electron microscopy.
Papers submitted are subject to double blind peer review performed by two independent reviewers. Authors are encouraged to recommend three reviewers, however, excluding reviewers is not acepted. Papers accepted for publication by the Editorial Board are subject to editorial revision.
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement of Resolution and Discovery: The journal follows the CODE OF CONDUCT AND BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES FOR JOURNAL EDITORS and the COPE ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR PEER REVIEWERS announced by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
