Hungarian Science

Magyar Tudomány (Hungarian Science) is the monthly journal of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), publishing short, reader-friendly articles in all fields of science and scholarship, highlighting topics of interest as well as issues of controversy from all branches of humanities, arts, and sciences. In addition to individual articles informed by various disciplines, each issue contains a collection of studies focusing on a particular topic proposed by a guest editor.

The predecessor of the journal was Academiai Értesítő (Academic Bulletin), launched in 1840. Its founding editor-in-chief was János Csengery, classical philologist, translator, professor, and member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The mission of the journal has remained unchanged since its foundation.
