Analytical software has been developed based on the Costello-theory [1,4], which is able to calculate strains, axial force and twisting moment in the seven-wire strand under tensile load. The FEM analysis of this structure also has been carried out, and the results are compared with the experimental data. The results prove good agreement, so sensitivity analyses of some geometrical and material parameters have been performed.
