A szerzők áttekintést adnak az obstruktív alvási apnoéhoz társuló szívritmuszavarok típusairól, előfordulási gyakoriságáról, okairól, diagnosztikájáról, illetve azok korszerű terápiás lehetőségeiről. Az obstruktív alvási apnoéban szenvedő betegek 5–50%-ában írtak le nocturnalis bradycardiát, 35%-ában paroxysmalis pitvari, 1–15%-ában kamrai tachyarrhythmiát vagy mindkettőt. A ritmuszavarok gyakorisága az alvászavar súlyosságával növekszik. A hajlamosító tényezők korai felismerése és a betegek megfelelő kezelése elengedhetetlen az életet veszélyeztető, a kórképet súlyosbító arrhythmiák megelőzése érdekében.
