A porcfelszínsérülések külön kategóriáját jelentik az úgynevezett „kissing surface” sérülések (amikor a patellofemoralis ízület ízfelszínei egymással szemben, egyszerre sérülnek). Jellegükből adódóan nehezebbek a kezelési lehetőségek, több kompromiszszumra kényszerülünk és szerényebb eredményt tudunk elérni. A választható terápiás lehetőségek közül a szerzők mozaikplasztikát alkalmaznak. A módszer kiterjesztett indikációval jól használható. Más módszerekhez képest, különösen a minőséget és a rehabilitáció gyorsaságát tekintve jobb eredmény érhető el vele.
