A malignus hematológiai kórképek jelentős hányadát jellemző áramláscitometriai, citogenetikai és molekuláris genetikai eltérések kísérik, amelyek azonban nemritkán egészségesekben is kimutathatók. A szerzők a rendelkezésükre álló irodalom alapján összefoglalják a monoklonális B-sejtes lymphocytosisra vonatkozó ismereteket, majd ismertetik azokat az adatokat, amelyek a t(14;18) és a t(11;14) kromoszómatranszlokáció, az NPM-ALK fúziós gén, a JAK2 V617F-mutáció, a BCR-ABL1 fúziós gén, az ETV6-RUNX1(TEL-AML1), az MLL-AF4 és a PML-RARA fúziós gén egészségesekben is tapasztalható előfordulására utalnak. Ma sem egyértelműen eldöntött, hogy a nem betegek körében talált ilyen eltéréseknek mi a jelentősége.
