A diabeteses gyermekek fiatal felnőttkori morbiditására (autoimmun komorbiditás és vascularis komplikációk) vonatkozóan nem ismertek hazai adatok. Célkitűzés: A 15 évesnél fiatalabb életkorban diagnosztizált 1-es típusú diabetesesek autoimmun komorbiditásának és szövődményeinek felmérése két évtizedes betegségtartam után. Módszer: Kérdőíves vizsgálat, négy dél-magyarországi megye összes betegének bevonásával. Eredmények: Coeliakiát az esetek 6,2%-ában találtak. Coeliakiával szövődött esetekben a diabetes szignifikánsan fiatalabb életkorban manifesztálódott. Autoimmun pajzsmirigybetegség a betegek 7,6%-ában fordult elő, e betegek életkora magasabb és diabetes-időtartamuk szignifikánsan hosszabb volt, mint a pajzsmirigybetegségben nem szenvedőké. Retinopathiáról a betegek ötöde, hypertoniáról egyhatoda számolt be. Neuropathiáról a páciensek 3,4%-a, veseérintettségről 4,8%-a tudósított. Következtetések: A retinopathiát és a hypertoniát kivéve, a microvascularis szövődmények előfordulása viszonylag alacsony volt. A kérdőíves vizsgálat korlátai miatt további laboratóriumi vizsgálatok szükségesek a prevalencia pontosabb felmérésére. Orv. Hetil., 2012, 153, 222–226.
