Az idiopathiás gyulladásos myopathiák krónikus, szisztémás autoimmun betegségek, amelyek a végtagizmok szimmetrikus, progresszív gyengeségével járnak. A betegség kezelése nagy gyakorlatot igénylő, összetett feladat. A közleményben a szerzők áttekintik a jelenleg rendelkezésre álló kezelési lehetőségeket idiopathiás gyulladásos myopathiákban, majd részletesen foglalkozunk az intravénás immunglobulin alkalmazhatóságával a terápiarefrakter esetekben. A szerzők célja, hogy minél több irodalmi példával, nemzetközi tapasztalattal támasszák alá a módszer hatékonyságát, figyelve előnyeire és esetleges hátrányaira is. Orv. Hetil., 2013, 154, 723–728.
