The authors designed a software for helping the prevention programme of cardiovascular diseases. Classical risk factors were used to graphically display the risk of an individual for developing coronary heart disease. The graphic presentation is compared to the ‘normal’ risk. By repeated estimations any alterations in the coronary risk status can be compared with the previous one, and the occurred change can be interpreted in a spectacular way. The use of the programme is highlighted by the 4-year-long course of a patient and the changes in her coronary risk status. The authors also show how graphic presentation of risk can support the more efficient treatment and patient care.
