We investigated the self-reported health status, lifestyle and financial standing of students in order to raise health awareness in university education. The participants were 301 university students. After being informed about the objectives of the survey, they volunteered to complete the anonymous questionnaire. About one third of respondents reported some symptoms. Dizziness and bone and joint problems were the main self-reported symptoms. The students’ overall well-being is associated with several lifestyle factors (eating habits, sleeping, physical activity). The students’ financial standing does not hold back a healthy lifestyle. It is concluded that, though there are important differences between study-loads at different faculties, it is a common need to involve health-promoting education programs in the curriculum of all faculties, and to improve the University Health Service.
