Instructions for Authors
AIMS AND SCOPE
STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA publishes original research papers of high quality and significance specialized in combinatorics, and combinatorial aspects of geometry and topology. Papers providing interesting, important and unexpected links connecting these topics to other parts of mathematics are also welcome. The purpose of the journal is the advancement of mathematical research in the above topics and especially in their interactions. The journal’s language is English.
EDITORIAL BOARD INFORMATION
STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA was founded in 1966 by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Starting from 2021, it carries the subtitle Combinatorics, Geometry and Topology (CoGeTo) expressing the new scope. Its publisher is Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary.
EDITORIAL BOARD
The international Editorial Board consists of experts in Combinatorics, Geometry and Topology. Their names and affiliations can be found on the journal’s web page.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION
Submission of a paper to STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA will be taken to imply that it represents original work not previously published, that it is not being considered elsewhere for publication, and that if accepted for publication it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in any language, without the consent of editor and publisher. The submitting author warrants that all the authors of the paper agree to it being submitted to STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA in this form.

REVIEW PROCESS
REVIEW OF THE MANUSCRIPTS
In general, manuscripts will be peer reviewed by external reviewers with no conflict of interest. Submissions that do not meet the standards of the journal, could be rejected without a review. STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA applies a single-blind review process, in which the authors’ identities are known to the reviewer but the reviewers’ identities are not revealed.
COPYRIGHT AND LICENCE POLICY
OPEN ACCESS
The authors of STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA can optionally choose Open Access appearance. With this choice, readers can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of articles, or use them for any other non-commercial lawful purpose. All articles are distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Licenses.

Authors not choosing Open Access publication are expected to sign the Copyright Transfer Form available here.
SELF-ARCHIVING
The Author is entitled to self-archive the postprint version of his/her manuscript. The postprint version is the Author’s manuscript or the galley proof or the Author’s manuscript along with the corrections made in the course of the peer review process (thus the only version not included here is the final published version of the paper that is prepared after the galley proofs are sent back to the publisher). The Author’s right to self-archive is irrespective of the format of the postprint (.doc, .txt, .pdf) version and self-archiving includes the free circulation of this file via email or publication of this postprint on the Author’s webpage or on the Author’s institutional, or any other repository with open or restricted access. When self-archiving a paper, the Author should clearly declare that the archived file is not the final published version of the paper, he/she should quote the correct citation and enclose a link to the published paper (https://doi.org/[DOI of the Article without brackets]).
The final published version of the paper can also be used and circulated privately (by sending it for example to colleagues or students) but the authors are not allowed to make it publicly available.
AUTHOR CHARGES
If choosing the optional Open Access appearance, corresponding author of every manuscript submitted after Feb 1, 2020 is requested to pay the Article Processing Charge (APC) of 900 EUR (including VAT) to cover the publishing costs of the paper.
In accordance with the agreement between the Electronic Information Service National Programme (EISZ) and Akadémiai Kiadó, papers with a corresponding author affiliated to a member institution subscribing to the journal package of Akadémiai Kiadó, can be published with no fee.
Akadémiai Kiadó offers 50% discount for Editorial Board members, and institutions of low- and middle-income countries. Discounts may not be combined. A limited number of waivers is available.
Manuscripts with outstanding payment will not be published until the balance is cleared. Once your paper is accepted for publication in STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA, and the authors made the Open Access choice, you will be requested to enter our online payment platform (https://apc.akademiai.com), where after registration You can upload license agreement and transfer the fee. Article processing will commence after the amount due has been remitted to our account.
Please note that there is no peer review charge, the only applicable fee is the article processing charge for authors of accepted papers who made the OA choice; and 40 EUR (or 10 000 HUF) + VAT for each illustration that the author opts to be printed in colour.

ETHICAL STATEMENT
STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA and Akadémiai Kiadó are committed to the ethical practices in science publishing and therefore follow the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors as well as the Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers. All authors are expected to be aware and follow the Ethical Guide of Akadémiai Kiadó, conform to the highest standards of ethical conduct in the submission of accurate data, acknowledging the work of others, and divulging potential conflicts of interests.
PREPARATION OF THE MANUSCRIPTS
Before acceptance, grammatical errors should also be corrected.
MANUSCRIPTS
The publication process can be accelerated if the authors prepare the final version of their manuscript using BiBTeX and STUDIA SCIENTIARUM MATHEMATICARUM HUNGARICA’s own LaTeX style SSMH.cls. The style file and the template can be downloaded from here. Figures should be embedded in the LaTeX file.
Every submission should contain an abstract summarizing the main message. In the final version of the submission, also Keywords and AMS 2020 Subject Classification codes are requested.
References should be listed in alphabetical order, preferably according to the following pattern (automatically produced by the style file):

PROOFS
The author will receive the first proof in a .pdf file and will be requested to read and correct it carefully and return it promptly (within one week at the latest) to the copy editor. The corrections should be marked in the PDF file or sent in a separate list with reference to the respective pages and lines.
