An observation of signals of acoustic emission induced by tritium decay is reported. The equipment consisting of PZT detectors, preamplifiers, low-cut filters and computer evaluation was used in this study as a differential system. The result shows that the two types of clear signals of acoustic emission are induced by tritium decay. They seem to be related to some radiation effects due to tritium irradiation, and not to acoustic waves during tritium decay events.

The decrepitation results of mineral baryte BaSO4 (Rudňany, Slovakia) of various quality obtained by completed Acoustic Emission (AE)-TG-DTA measurements are presented in
this paper. The overall effect of decrepitation ability of major component BaSO4 is not hindered by accompanying mineral siderite FeCO3. This fact confirms decrepitation study of pure minerals by the thermovacuum impulse method, too.
On 28 December 2002, a new boca opened above sea level on the flank of Stromboli. Two days later, a landslide occurred on the same flank, and a tsunami hit the coast of the island. We give an interpretation of such crisis, based on the evidences provided by acoustic emission (AE) records collected at a nearby station, at 160 kHz. The entire set of phenomena, which in general is not linear, corresponded to a paroxysm generated by an anomalous increase of the prime energy breeding of the volcano. The phenomenon involved the entire physical system, and it was manifested in terms of different “catastrophic” events. The final equilibrium was attained when the system was reshaped according to the requirements of its new energy status and balance.
