Fő következtetése szerint a globalizációs folyamat lassul, új típusa formálódik, deglobalizáció viszont nem valószínű. A tanulmány tudományosan újszerű eleme a globalizáció dinamikájának és hajtóerőinek új megközelítésben való bemutatása, valamint fenntarthatóságának értelmezése.
