Abstract
Various samples of different substituted La-ferrites (La1–x
1Ax
1 (Fe1–x
2Bx
2)O3) have been prepared by the usual ceramic and high temperature sintering technique. On these specimens several measurements were carried out, namely, Cu–K X-ray analysis, true density, bulk density, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), IR absorption spectra, electronic absorption spectra and crushing strength before and after
-radiation dose (4.5×107 rad). Results reported were promising, interpreted and discussed in detail on the basis of the interaction of
-radiation and different dopant cations with La-ferrite lattices. Finally, a suggested lattice structure symbol was put forward.
