The gene order conservation (GOC) between the species of family Streptococcaceae was analysed. The rate of GOC in the strains belonging to the same species is 70% or more. When we compared different species belonging to the same genus, the rate of GOC was 30–47% while it was below 20% when the species were from different genera. A molecular identification key was established for identifying those genera and species within the family Streptococcaceae which have an already known full genome sequence (24 Streptococcus and 2 Lactococcus species). Identical genome parts of the species belonging to the same genus were used for determination of genera. These are the sections surrounding the replication origin dnaA, the sequence from gene phaB to the gene accA, and the sequence of alr acpS secA. Sections around the genes pepX, leuS and rplM were used for identifying the species. The gene order analysis and data in molecular identification key showed that S. uberis and S. parauberis also belong to the same species, and our suggestion for their new names is S. uberis subsp. uberis and S uberis subsp. parauberis. Based on this data, a new definition of bacterial species is proposed: two isolates belong to the same species if the order of the genes in their genomes is almost identical.

A perikoncepcionális gondozás 3 hónappal a tervezett terhességet megelőzően kezdődik és a 3. terhességi hónapig tart. A célja, hogy a veleszületett rendellenességek és a koraszülés kockázatát csökkentse. Jelenleg a fejlett országokban a csecsemőhalandóság 20–25%-áért a veleszületett rendellenességek felelősek és a vezető halálokok közé tartoznak. Jellemző rájuk, hogy defekt állapotot képviselnek, s a teljes gyógyulás ritkán érhető el. Ezért az elsődleges megelőzés jelentheti az egészségügyi ellátás számára az egyetlen optimális megoldást. Az elmúlt 25 évben számos vizsgálat igazolta a perikoncepcionális időszakban alkalmazott folsavszupplementáció hatékonyságát a veleszületett rendellenességek – főleg az idegcső-záródási rendellenesség – terén. A családtervezési szolgáltatás Magyarországon 1984 óta működik. Ez a modell optimális lehetőség a perikoncepcionális folsav/multivitamin szupplementáció bevezetésére, így eredményes eljárást biztosít veleszületett rendellenességek megelőzésére. Orv. Abstract  

In earlier papers finite pseudorandom binary sequences were studied, quantitative measures of pseudorandomness of them were introduced and studied, and large families of “good” pseudorandom sequences were constructed. In certain applications (cryptography) it is not enough to know that a family of “good” pseudorandom binary sequences is large, it is a more important property if it has a “rich”, “complex” structure. Correspondingly, the notion of “f-complexity” of a family of binary sequences is introduced. It is shown that the family of “good” pseudorandom binary sequences constructed earlier is also of high f-complexity. Finally, the cardinality of the smallest family achieving a prescibed f-complexity and multiplicity is estimated.
