Radiochemical measurements of the concentrations of thorium, uranium and plutonium isotopes were carried out for the samples of Arkansas River collected at six locations in the states of Colorado and Oklahoma. The uranium to thorium ratios in the river samples were found to be highly variable and generally much greater than the ratios found in soils and in rainwater. An attempt has been made to determine the apparent230Th ages (or the times which elapsed since the last major disruption of the radioactive equilibria) from the observed230Th/232Th and234U/232Th ratios in the water samples.

Jelenleg a bevacizumab – mely egy a vaszkuláris endotheliális növekedési faktor (VEGF) elleni rekombináns, monoklonális antitest – a klinikai fejlesztések legelőrehaladottabb stádiumban lévő gyógyszere. Ugyanakkor más célzott érellenes szerek is – beleértve a VDA-kat (vascular disrupting agents) és különféle kis molekulájú tirozinkináz-inhibitorokat – reménykeltők voltak a preklinikai és klinikai vizsgálatokban. Jelen közleményünkben áttekintjük az NSCLC-ben önmagukban vagy kemoterápiával kombináltan alkalmazható antivaszkuláris terápiás stratégiákat.

The thermal decomposition of disodium propan-2-one-1,3-disulphonate (NaO3S.CH2.CO.CH2.SO3Na) in atmospheres of both oxygen and nitrogen proceded by a complete molecular disruption with sodium sulphate or mixtures of sodium sulphate and sodium carbonate as the final residues. No organic compounds were detected in the volatile products.

Fvwc1 and Fvwc2, orthologues of the wc-1 and wc-2 genes encoding for proteins of the white collar complex (WCC) in Neurospora crassa were cloned from Fusarium verticillioides and lack-of-function wc mutants were obtained by targeted gene disruption. Photo-conidiation was found to be absent in F. verticillioides, on the contrary, the wild type strain produced less conidia under continuous illumination than in the dark. Inactivation of any of the wc genes led to total female sterility, without affecting male fertility or asexual conidiation. No loss in colonization capability/invasive growth of the wc mutants was observed, when assessed on tomato fruits. Both Fvwc1 and Fvwc2 showed constitutive expression in the wild type cultures incubated in the dark and exposure to light caused only negligible increases in their transcription. Both Fvwc1 and Fvwc2 were down-regulated in a ΔFvmat1-2-1 gene disruption mutant, lacking a functional mating type (mat1-2-1) gene, suggesting that the MAT1-2-1 product has a positive regulatory effect on the white collar genes.
A keyword analysis was applied in this work to evaluate research trends of DDT (1,1,1-trichloro-2,2-bis(p-chlorophenyl)ethane) papers published between 1991 and 2005 in any journal of all the subject categories of the Science Citation
Index compiled by ISI (Institute for Scientific Information, Philadelphia, USA). DDT was used as a keyword to search parts
of titles, abstracts, or keywords. The published output analysis showed that DDT research steadily increased over the past
15 years and the annual publication output in 2005 was about twice that of 1991. The two peaks in 1997 and 2000 were closely
related to two new research fields on DDT, namely the endocrine disruption and the persistent organic pollutants (POPs). A
paper entitled “Persistent DDT metabolite p,p’-DDE is a potent androgen receptor antagonist” published in 1995 in Nature by Kelce et al. firstly discovered DDT’s toxicity for humans. As a result, public concerns regarding DDT ballooned and now
play a key role in DDT research. Keyword analysis indicated that the research interest changed remarkably from 1991 to 2005.
“Endocrine disruption” was one of the most frequently used author keywords in the period between 2002 and 2005 whilst it did
not appear before 1997. The new conception of POPs showed the same trend. The whole paper published by India and Mexico ranked
at 6th and 13th. That showed that DDT research is often related with DDT’s risk and benifits to humans.
Asia constitutes a favourite territory for Duras' imaginative world, either native Indochina or India of embassies, realm
of her mythical character, A. M. Stretter and her lovers' court. Though disrupting realism, M. Duras outlines in her novels
a space with a recognizable topography. If Asian geography and topography come close to being a fantasy, Duras' fascination
for Asian wilderness, mainly for tropical forest, concurs with whose of other Western writers. Then Duras sketchs out a nature
poetics which fits into an utterly polymorphous art of writing. The purpose of this work is to demonstrate how, from the forest
and the tree motifs, Duras' space poetics opens onto an ideological speech, concealing a specific fantasized world.

We present a simple method of nanocrystal growth during the heating of Au-covered GaAs single crystals in a closed quartz ampoule, previously evacuated to 10-1 Pa. The process is the final stage of surface transformations in such crystals which include the disruption of initially continuous, 50 nm thick Au layer and formation of Au-particle fractals in the relatively low 300-500 °C temperature range and a next step, when a variety of crystalline nanowires and even nanotubes grows on the crystal surface during the further short-period heating up to 550-650 °C. These nanostructures were identified by SEM and TEM measurements as b-Ga2O3 and a non-stoichiometric arsenic oxide. It is supposed that the growth of few nanometer thick arsenic oxide tubes follows the vapour-solid mechanism, whereas the catalytic Au-metal growth of thicker b-Ga2O3 nanowires was dominated by the vapour-liquid-solid mechanism.

Másik ok, ami miatt megoldást igényelnek, a jól látható testterület esztétikai értéke és a javítás szükségessége. Az egyes elváltozások, amelyek leírása, illetve megoldásuknak a szerző által javasolt módszerei a következők: ptosis palpebrae, anophthalmus, cryptophthalmus (ablepharon), tumorok.
Drawing on established connections between Roman identity and an agricultural landscape, this paper examines how the imagery of disrupted pastoral and agrarian landscapes and characters represent the effects of civil war on the Roman people in Vergil’s Aeneid and Lucan’s Bellum Civile. While disturbance and turmoil are already a part of the natural landscape in Vergil’s Eclogues and Georgics, in epic, a genre that concerns itself with how empire and imperial power mediate Roman identity, the displacement of shepherds and agriculture partially redefines Roman identity in militaristic terms. Vergil’s pastoral characters, written into military roles as civic landscapes displace agrarian ones in the Aeneid, survive but fail to find a place in Lucan’s ruined and desolate Pharsalian landscape in the Bellum Civile. There, the broken natural landscape, unfit for agriculture, pastoralism, or trade, mirrors the redefinition of what is “Roman” and the occlusion of Rome’s link to an idealized bucolic past.

Specific composition, protein profiles and total SOD activity were analysed in full milk samples obtained from five farms of the Milk Company IMPAZ. The effects of several laboratory treatments on milk proteins SDS-PAGE profiles and the respective SOD activity were also followed. The total SOD activity was detected in all full milk samples, and its values varied between 2 and 3 U mg-1 protein. The enzyme could be partially purified, up to »5 U mg-1 protein, by ethanol extraction. The recovered SOD activity in ethanol extract was proportional to the initial full milk SOD activity. The disruption of casein micelles by Ca2+ removal was followed by a significant decrease in SOD activity to 1.24-0.18 U mg-1 protein. The loss of enzyme activity was ascribed to the changes in milk milieu induced by dissociation of casein micelles.
