The idea of filial piety has been very widespread in all spheres of Mongolian cultural life. It was present in folk songs as well as in high level literary works of the 13th-14th centuries. The present paper is devoted to a unique manuscript originating from the 17th century: Dalai blam-a-yin ecige eke-degen aci qari?ulqui neretü sudur from the Oriental Collection of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The sutra seems to be a manual used at funerals, or during the rituals of the mourning period, and is a very nice piece of Mongolian literature remembering and praising the mother's love towards her child.

The soul of man resides in different parts of the body on each day of the month. The concerned body part should be handled with care, as if it is hurt, it causes extreme harm. The yurt, just like animals, also has a soul. The paper presents five small hand-books — from the collection of the Oriental Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, from the St. Petersburg Oriental Collection of the Russian Academy and from private possession — indicating the abode of the soul in humans, the yurt and animals.

The present article musters the fifteen demons causing child-disease as they appear in written sources since the 14th up to the 21st century. Terminology of their names shows the development of language fashion in using Buddhist terminology: corrupted Sanskrit words taken from the Uighur were used in the 14th century, while Mongolian terms literally translated from Tibetan were applied in the 16th century and corrupted Tibetan names are fashionable in our days.
