Abstract
Combined with a new, low dead-time transistor reset preamplifier, the Preloaded Filter pulse processor offers up to 49% higher throughput rates than a conventional gated integrator system, at resolutions which are better by 0.3 to 0.4 keV. Low rate resolution of the Preloaded Filter is better than that of the gated integrator by more than 40%.
Abstract
In isoperibol temperature-rise calorimetry, different approaches can lead to the corrected temperature rise. The description of the methodology, as well as an improvement in the approach to the accurate numerical calculation of the corrected temperature rise in isoperibol calorimetry, based on the comparison between the exponential functional description of the initial and final periods and an independent third order polynomial fitting, is presented. The latter is focused on the strategy of minimizing the result dependency on the definition of the main period of the reaction. Furthermore, the dedicated software application Labtermo is introduced.
Abstract
The applicability of charged particles induced cyclic activation analysis as well as elastic scattering reactions are investigated to determine elemental concentrations in environmental material. The nuclear reactions are induced by the well focused proton-(25 MeV) and helium-3 beam (40 MeV) of the Hamburg Isochronous Cyclotron.
