To provide a convenient and facile method to evaluate the radiochemical purity (RCP) of 99mTc-TRODAT-1 in quality control of routine clinical application, a simplified method of single-strip thin layer chromatography
(TLC) was developed and validated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The RCP data of TLC correlated well with

During the past decade, interest has increased in qualifying and quantifying the threat posed to the public by the illegal
use of radionuclides. In order to take investigations beyond the laboratory bench into more realistic scenarios, environmental
and safety considerations dictate that these studies be performed on stable and benign surrogates. This paper discusses some
of these studies, specifically the use of cerium dioxide for actinide ceramics and calcium and natural strontium ceramics
for those based on 90Sr.

In this study, the ability of microRNA-1906 (miR-1906) to attenuate bone loss in osteoporosis was evaluated by measuring the effects of a miR-1906 mimic and inhibitor on the cellular toxicity and cell viability of MC3T3‐E1 cells. Bone marrow-derived macrophage (BMM) cells were isolated from female mice, and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase signalling was performed in miR-1906 mimic-treated, receptor-activated nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) ligand (RANKL)-induced osteoclasts. In-vivo, osteoporosis was induced by ovariectomy (OVX). Rats were treated with 500 nmol/kg of the miR-1906 mimic via intrathecal administration for 10 consecutive days following surgery. The effect of the miR-1906 mimic on bone mineral density (BMD) in OVX rats was observed in the whole body, lumbar vertebrae and femur. Levels of biochemical parameters and cytokines in the serum of miR-1906 mimic-treated OVX rats were analysed. The mRNA expression of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (MyD88), p-38 and NF-κB in tibias of osteoporotic rats (induced by ovariectomy) was observed using quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction. Treatment with the miR-1906 mimic reduced cellular toxicity and enhanced the cell viability of MC3T3‐E1 cells. Furthermore, osteoclastogenesis in miR-1906 mimic-treated, RANKL-induced osteoclast cells was reduced, whereas the BMD in the miR-1906 mimic-treated group was higher than in the OVX group of rats. Treatment with the miR-1906 mimic also increased levels of biochemical parameters and cytokines in the serum of ovariectomised rats. Finally, mRNA expression levels of TLR4, MyD88, p-38 and NF-κB were lower in the tibias of miR-1906 mimic-treated rats than in those of OVX rats. In conclusion, the miR-1906 mimic reduces bone loss in rats with ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis by regulating the TLR4/MyD88/NF‐κB pathway.

The molar heat capacities of the room temperature ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluoroborate (BMIPF6) were measured by an adiabatic calorimeter in temperature range from 80 to 390 K. The dependence of the molar heat capacity
on temperature is given as a function of the reduced temperature (X) by polynomial equations, CP,m (J K−1 mol−1) = 204.75 + 81.421X − 23.828 X2 + 12.044X3 + 2.5442X4 [X = (T − 132.5)/52.5] for the solid phase (80–185 K), CP,m (J K−1 mol−1) = 368.99 + 2.4199X + 1.0027X2 + 0.43395X3 [X = (T − 230)/35] for the glass state (195 − 265 K), and CP,m (J K−1 mol−1) = 415.01 + 21.992X − 0.24656X2 + 0.57770X3 [X = (T − 337.5)/52.5] for the liquid phase (285–390 K), respectively. According to the polynomial equations and thermodynamic relationship,
the values of thermodynamic function of the BMIPF6 relative to 298.15 K were calculated in temperature range from 80 to 390 K with an interval of 5 K. The glass transition
of BMIPF6 was measured to be 190.41 K, the enthalpy and entropy of the glass transition were determined to be ΔHg = 2.853 kJ mol−1 and ΔSg = 14.98 J K−1 mol−1, respectively. The results showed that the milting point of the BMIPF6 is 281.83 K, the enthalpy and entropy of phase transition were calculated to be ΔHm = 20.67 kJ mol−1 and ΔSm = 73.34 J K−1 mol−1.

Positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) experiments are performed in polycarbonate (PC) exposed to CO2 and He gases as a function of time and pressure. In PC/CO2 systems, hole size and fraction reduced from PAL data increase as a function of CO2 pressure and exposure time. Significant hysteresis in positron lifetime data is observed during CO2 abasorption/desorption. In PC/He systems, no variation is observed. Hole size distribution in the CO2-exposed polymers is found to be significantly broader than in unexposed samples. The high sensitivity of PAL results to CO2 exposure of PC is thought to relate to the microstructural changes in the polymer matrix, such as penetrant plasticization, gas hydrostatic pressure effect, and molecular filling and creation of holes.

A comparative proteomic analysis of grain proteins during five grain developmental stages of wheat cultivar Chinese Spring (CS) and its 1Sl/1B substitution line CS-1Sl(1B) was carried out in the current study. A total of 78 differentially expressed protein (DEP) spots with at least 2-fold expression difference were detected by two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE). Among these, 73 protein spots representing 55 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were successfully identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-offlight tandem mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS). Differential protein spots between the two genotypes were analyzed by cluster software, which revealed significant proteome differences. There were 39 common spots (including 33 DEPs) that showed significant difference between the two lines across five grain developmental stages, of which 14 DEP spots (including 11 DEPs) were mainly involved in carbohydrate metabolism that were encoded by the genes on 1B chromosome while 25 DEP spots (including 12 DEPs) were mainly related to stress response and gluten quality that were encoded by 1S1 chromosome. These results indicated that the Sl genome harbors more stress and quality related genes that are potential valuable for improving wheat stress resistance and product quality.

Gliadin is a main component of gluten proteins that affect functional properties of bread making and contributes to the viscous nature of doughs. In this study, thirteen novel ω-gliadin genes were identified in several Triticum species, which encode the ARH-, ATDand ATN-type proteins. Two novel types of ω-gliadins: ATD- and ATN- have not yet been reported. The lengths of 13 sequences were ranged from 927 to 1269 bp and the deduced mature proteins were varied from 309 to 414 residues. All 13 genes were pseudogenes because of the presence of internal stop codons. The primary structure of these ω-gliadin genes included a signal peptide, a conserved N-terminal domain, a repetitive domain and a conserved C-terminus. In this paper, we first characterize ω-gliadin genes from T. timopheevi ssp. timopheevi and T. timopheevi ssp. araraticum. The ω-gliadin gene variation and the evolutionary relationship of ω-gliadin family genes were also discussed.
