Gamma-spectrometric determination of the uranium enrichment is reviewed and two main point are analyzed: (a) The correlation between the enrichment factor and the mass of the sample and (b) the intensity of the -ray used in the method, which had to be changed from previous works. Furthermore a X2 minimization has been included into the method, improving its reliability.
The co-precipitation of tungsten and molybdenum by α-benzoinoxime has been studied. Comparison of relative yields for both
elements is made. Results showed coincidence and let conclude that molybdenum can be used as tracer to calculate sample to
standard relative yield for tungsten. Analyses of water samples for tungsten were made and results were also presented.
A radiochemical procedure developed by the authors for neutron activation analysis of As, Cd, Cu, Sn, and Zn in beef extract
samples is described, based on combined precipitation steps to isolate the elements to be determined. Nuclides are separated
with high degree of purity and good chemical yields. Interferences from threshold reactions are discussed and calculated.
Results are shown for analysis of six samples.
