Abstract

A lot of problems arise even recently concerning the control of flatness and profile of rolled strip in industrial circumstances. In the course of planning of the cold-rolling technology of geometrically true strip that is exempt of internal deformation stresses — i.e. flatness strip — it is necessary to take into consideration the elastic and thermal deformation of working rolls, the basic sheet-metal forming of rolls, the existing crown of basic material as well as the wearing of the rolls. A measurement method by which the shape of strip can exactly be measured is necessary for performing the control. In the present phase of my research work, a measurement device has been developed by means of which the given problem can be solved for the time being in experimental circumstances.

The aim of this study is to summarize the fungal data collected by the authors in the territory of the forest Budakeszi near Budapest, since 1995-2001. A total of 177 fungi (150 species) was enumerated from the forests around Budakeszi. The presence of Physarum bitectum is the first data from Hungary. A rarely rust, Puccinia komarovii has appeared year by year in high quantity on Impatiens parviflora in the Virág-völgy. Another widespread rust was Puccinia conii on Conium maculatum, that was known as a member of the mycoflora of this area 180 years ago.

Abstract  

The radioactivities of 26 samples of mushrooms (22 species) have been determined. These samples originated primarily from the park forest near Pestszentlrinc (Hungary). Samples were taken from different parts of the Pestszentlrinc forest including samples from pine, oak and acacia. Measurements included radionuclides such as40K,134Cs,137Cs,110mAg, total-beta and90Sr. It was found that the uptake of cesium isotopes in mushrooms is higher than in green plants, and Macrolepiota species are especially suitable test organisms to detect the110mAg isotope.

Impacts of macrosynoptic weather patterns on the development of the thermal excess in suburban areas of Debrecen are examined in this paper. Temperature datasets have been recorded at two heights by three automatic weather stations mounted in Debrecen (east Hungary) and a small settlement in its vicinity. An additional automatic weather station is used as a reference station outside Debrecen. Urban heat island (UHI) intensities have been calculated from the raw datasets. Impacts of synoptic conditions have been analyzed on the base of Péczely’s macrosynoptic types. It has been found that anticyclone types are more favorable from the aspect of UHI development, while cyclone types, especially the passage of warm fronts can effectively hinder the formation of strong heat islands in Debrecen.

The aim of dogrose breeding for fruit purposes is to select genotypes suitable for cultivation and to produce new genotypes by crossing. Physical and chemical analyses, prospective genotypes have been developed from R. inodora , R. corymbifera, R. rubiginosa and R. canina varieties.In the course of the investigations, the highest vitamin C content was found in the hips of R. inodora and R. rubiginosa . The glucose and fructose contents ranged from 9.57–13.36 g/100 g, averaged over several years. The amounts of these two carbohydrates were equal, or in some taxa (e.g. R. corymbifera, R. canina Sz3) the fructose content was higher.The glucose, fructose and vitamin C contents changed at different rates in each taxon during ripening. The results showed that the fructose content reached its peak a week earlier than the glucose content. The vitamin C content of morphological varieties of R. canina did not change substantially during ripening.

Hedya nubiferana (Haworth) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) is a polyphagous pest damaging apple, pear, peach, plum and other related fruits. In tests conducted in Hungary, traps baited with a female-targeted lure [ethyl (E,Z)-2,4-decadienoate (pear ester) + acetic acid; abbreviated later as PE+AA] caught comparable number of moths as pheromone baited traps. Traps with PE+AA lures caught (females and males together) on an average 30% of the catch in traps baited with the synthetic green budworm moth sex pheromone (catching all males). This suggested that the PE+AA lure had a trapping performance comparable with that of pheromone traps, which latter are in practical use by farmers today. The seasonal flight patterns recorded with the PE+AA baited traps were similar to those with the sex pheromone baited ones, with respect to detection of beginning of flight and quantitative trends of catches during the flight. Consequently, the PE+AA lure shows potential for future practical applications as a female-targeted lure for H. nubiferana.

A daganatos páciensek jelentős része számol be a kognitív funkcióiban bekövetkezett hanyatlásról, amely magának a betegségnek a következménye vagy onkológiai kezelésének a mellékhatása lehet. A kognitív képességek ilyen romlását annak idején találó elnevezéssel „chemobrain”-nek vagy „chemofog”-nak nevezték el, utalva ezzel arra a korai koncepcióra, amely szerint kizárólag a kemoterápiás kezelés neurotoxicus hatása tehető felelőssé a zavar kialakulásáért. Mára azonban egyre több bizonyíték van arra vonatkozóan, hogy ez csak részben magyarázza a daganatos páciensek és a túlélők kognitív funkciókbeli hanyatlását, ez ugyanis egy sokkal komplexebb mellékhatása a daganatos betegségnek, mint a klasszikus chemobrain vagy chemofog. Ez az elnevezésben is megmutatkozik, manapság „cancer-related cognitive impairment”-ként, vagyis daganattal összefüggő kognitív hanyatlásként (rövidítve CRCI) szokás hivatkozni a daganatos páciensek betegségükkel összefüggő kognitívfunkció-romlására. The agonistic and antagonistic properties of N-cyclopropylmethyl (N-CPM) morphine derivatives were observed in mouse vas deferens (MVD), longitudinal muscle of guinea pig ileum (GPI) and rabbit vas deferens (LVD). In MVD the Ke values of the titled compounds (N-CPM-morphine, N-CPM-isomorphine, N-CPM-dihydromorphine, N-CPM-dihydroisomorpPhine, N-CPM-dihydromorphone and naltrexone) were measured for µ-, ?- and d-receptors using normorphine, ethylketocyclazocine (EKC) and D-Pen2-D-Pen5-enkephaline (DPDPE) as selective agonists on the receptors, respectively. For µ-receptors of MVD the tested compounds showed similar affinity. For ?-receptors the non-iso-6-OH derivatives possessed much less affinity than the iso-derivatives. Similar difference could be observed for d-receptors. The agonistic activities of these compounds in MVD were observed to be between 0-20% of the inhibition of muscle contractions. In GPI the compounds - except naltrexone - possessed strong agonistic activities effectively antagonized by nor-binaltorphimine (nor-BNI) (Ke of nor-BNI was 0.23 nM) suggesting that they were strong ?-receptor agonists. We investigated these agents in LVD too, which contains ?-receptors, but they did not produce any agonist potencies. It raises the possibility that the ?-receptor subtypes of LVD and MVD are different from the ?-receptor subtype of GPI or the vasa deferentia contain much fewer ?-receptors than GPI and the intrinsic activities of these compounds are too small to reach the 50% inhibition of the contractions.

Abstract  

Short-term fluctuations of indoor radon may occur due to weather conditions, seismic activity etc. These average out during the year. According to our measurements, in the very same room the yearly average of radon concentration may also change by 25–50% from year to year. This observation may make the comparison of indoor radon levels of houses measured in different years unjustified; large scale radon maps based upon such data are less reliable. Possible causes of such year-by-year changes are discussed empirically. The conclusions may be helpful to foresee long-term tendencies, implied by changes of living habits and by climatic shifts.
