Abstract
Activation analysis of some seaweed samples occurring off the coastline areas of Myanmar is described. Na, K and I were determined using Am(Be) radionuclide neutron source and low level -counting.
Abstract
Manganese in pyrolusite ores from various regions of Myanmar was determined by thermal neutron activation analysis using an Am(Be) neutron source. The induced activities of56Mn were monitored by a -counting technique.
Abstract
Aluminium, silicon, copper, iron, magnesium and sulfur in Kalewa (Myanmar) coal were determined by fast neutron activation analysis. For activation a KAMAN A-710 Neutron Generator was used. Kalewa coal was found to be low in sulfur and relatively rich in iron.
Abstract
14 MeV neutrons from a KAMAN A-710 neutron generator were used for the activation analysis of Nga-Khu (Clarias Magur) fresh-water fish. Na, P, K, Ca, Cl, Fe and Mg were determined in whole and in edible portions of fish.
Abstract
Copper was determined in two Myanmar indigenous medicines by neutron activation analysis using an Am (Be) radionuclide neutron source. The activity of 511 keV peak of the64Cu was measured.
Abstract
The initiation, present status and future trends of radiometric flow-injection analysis is described.
Abstract
Gold has been determined in two Myanmar indigenous medicines TMF 14 (Devaauthada), TMF 15 (Shwe Thwe Say) by neutron activation analysis using an Am(Be) radionuclide neutron source. The activity of 411 keV of the198Au has bene measured.
Abstract
Am(Be) neutron source was used for activation of samples and76As radioactivity measured by both – and -counting techniques. The samples analyzed were raw materials traditionally used in formulating Myanmar indigenous medicines. The results were compared with those obtained by volumetric analysis and those reported in the literature.
Abstract
Preliminary studies were conducted on the coupling of sub-super equivalence isotope dilution analysis and radiometric flowinjection analysis techniques.109Cd was used as tracer and an attempt was made for extraction of cadmium from the aqueous phase into the organic phase (chloroform) by using dithizone.
