Abstract  

Electronic Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy is used for studying paramagnetic Tc2+ and Tc6+ complexes, respectively. Results of liquid and frozen solution studies are discussed as well as those obtained from single-crystal experiments. Structure and bonding properties are derived from the spectral data.

Abstract  

The chemical form of the retention of TcN/et2dtc/2 has been investigated by mass spectrometry. The results indicate that this complex does not undergo ligand exchange reactions with plasma proteins.

Abstract  

Pertechnetate, TcO 4 , is reduced by thionyl chloride and phosphoryl chloride, respectively, to yield semistable Tc(VI) intermediates which can easily be detected by EPR spectroscopy. Spectra are recorded in liquid and frozen solutions. EPR data as well as chemical behaviour suggest the compounds obtained to be oxochloro complexes of technetium(VI).

Abstract  

A series of technetium complexes with different alkyl dithiocarbamates, dithiophosphates and xanthates has been prepared at tracer level (10–4 molar) starting from hydrazine-reduced pertechnetate and Tc(V) gluconate, respectively. Solution studies show the complexes to be neutral, lipid-soluble tracers. Their in vitro properties can be varied in a wide range by variation of alkyl substitution of the ligands.

Abstract  

Dianionic tridentate O, N, S Schiff bases derived from salicylaldehyde and 2-mercaptoamines react with Tc/V/ gluconate to form radiochemically pure neutral Tc chelates. The existence of lipophilic Tc complexes could be proved by high voltage electrophoresis, thin layer chromatography and octanol/water partition coefficients.
