Abstract
In this article, composites of ammonium polyphosphate (APP) intercalated layered double hydroxides (LDH) were prepared using joint methods (JM) and joint methods combined with a sonochemical technique (JMST). The structures of the composites were characterised by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetry and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Results indicated that both methods allowed the combination of LDH with APP to form APP/LDH composites via covalent bonds. APP intercalation into LDH layers or grafting onto LDH surfaces using JMST was favourable. The APP content of APP/LDH composites prepared by JMST was 1.5 times higher than that in products prepared only by JM. Furthermore, composites prepared by JMST were smaller in size.
The value of different dwarfing genes in winter wheat breeding was studied using 6 near-isogenic lines carrying different Rht dwarfing genes over three years experiment. Results showed that both the Rht-B1b and Rht-D1b semi-dwarfing genes had significantly positive effects on kernel number and grain weight per spike, and had significantly negative effects on 1000-grain weight comparing to the tall line ( Rht-B1a ). The Rht-B1c dwarfing gene had a significantly negative effect on kernel number per spike, and had positive effect on 1000-grain weight. The combination of the Rht-D1b and Rht-B1c gene showed significantly negative effect on yield components. All of these 5 dwarfing or semi-dwarfing genotypes mentioned above had significantly negative effect on plant height and no significantly effect on the area of flag leaf, spikelets per spike and spike length.
Abstract
Background and Aims
In the digital age, Internet addiction (IA) was deemed an epidemic and few treatments had been effectively developed for it. Here, we proposed a solution-focused group counseling (SFGC) as a potentially solution to reduce Internet addiction among college students. The present study examined the short- and long-term effect of a five-week solution-focused group counseling intervention on Internet addiction.
Methods
Thirty-two participants were recruited and randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group, and twenty-six participants completed the whole intervention. The experimental group (n = 14) received the intervention, while control group (n = 12) did not. The revised version of the Chinese Internet Addiction Scale (CIAS-R), the Future Time Perspective, and resting-state EEG were administered pre-intervention, post-intervention, and at two follow-up tests (one month and six months after intervention).
Results
The results showed that the scores of the CIAS-R in the experimental group were significantly decreased after intervention, and these effects could be sustained for one month and six months follow-ups. Additionally, the intervention conducted an increase in future time perspective. EEG results further suggested that the alpha, beta, and gamma absolute power decreased after the intervention.
Conclusion
These results from the pilot-study primarily suggested that solution-focused group counseling could be an effective intervention for Internet addiction.
Abstract
To determine the most effective preservation method for MiBa (a traditional Chinese rice product), MiBa treated with 75% alcohol, 75% alcohol + inhibitor, ozone treatment; untreated (control); and raw rice were subjected to 16S rRNA gene and ITS three-generation sequencing by High-throughput Sequencing Technology. According to the results the preservation effects of different treatment methods ranked as follows: ozone treatment >75% alcohol treatment >75% alcohol+inhibitor > control. Bacterial composition analysis showed that the bacterial community on the surface of MiBa treated with ozone was dominated by genera Leuconostoc and Serratia. The fungal community consisted mainly of Aspergillus and Alternaria. In summary, ozone treatment proved to be the most effective in inhibiting microbial contamination during the storage of MiBa, effectively extending its shelf life.
