Microscopic organisms play a vital role in the field of green technology. Among the genera fungi, the group of entomopathogens includes Beauveria bassiana, which has been found to have multifunctional applications. In this present research, we have attempted to partially purify chitinase from two strains of Beauveria bassiana (F881 and F911), each cultured in minimal media with 1% (w/v) colloidal chitin as well as in Sabouraud's dextrose media with 1% (w/v) colloidal chitin. The purification process was done with a setup of ceramic membranes, which comprises two stages, ultrafiltration (50 nm pore size membrane) and nanofiltration (MWCO 5 kDa). Furthermore, with the analysis of yield of enzymatically hydrolyzed NAG (N-acetyl glucosamine), resistance and fouling of the membrane were also studied.

The expression levels of two marker proteins (phosphinotrichin acetyltransferase, PAT and wheat germ agglutinin, WGA) in the transgenic wheat lines and their resistance to digestion in small intestine of rats were studied in comparison with their non-transgenic counterpart obtained from green house and field experiments of two subsequent years. The marker proteins were quantified by ELISA. It was found that the expression of PAT and WGA markedly increased when the wheat was grown in the field compared to that in the greenhouse. There were no significant differences between the WGA contents of the parent and transgenic wheat lines, but a broad range of expression of PAT and WGA was observed in the transgenic lines. PAT did not survive in the small intestine of the rats, while WGA was resistant to digestion in different ratios and was bound to the intestinal epithelium.

The influence of hot dip galvanizing on the rebar/concrete adherence was studied. The kinetics of rebars corrosion in high chlorides content concrete was studied by electrochemical methods. Unprotected (black steel) and hot dip galvanized steel were studied. The results show a mechanical resistance improvement of reinforced concrete with hot dip galvanized rebars and a better corrosion performance of hot dip galvanized steel in concrete compared to the black steel.
Goal of in-service NDT carried out in engineering plants is to reduce operational risk via contribution to insurance of the components’ structural integrity. NDT in structural integrity assessment has two directions. One of the basic problems in reliability assessment of engineering components having crack like flaws is on how the crack sensitivity of the component can be defined in terms of characteristic numbers. If we would be able to define it than the hazard of different flaws could be compared by pure numbers. The definition and introduction of a Crack Propagation Sensitivity Index of a component has fundamental meaning because the experimental results of the NDT, the loading conditions and the crack propagation resistance are physically connected by applying fracture mechanics principles in the components reliability assessment.
