One of the most apparent features of information society is the increasing number, diversity and complexity as well as the continuous and fast change of technical tools surrounding everything and everyone. In an interaction with the adoption of new technologies, the receptive medium, the society does also change, while the environmental changes require adaptation. The change, as the new tools and the additional services are becoming a part of the citizens’ everyday life at an extent never seen before, develops new deviances. However, the role of law in this change is constant: it has to regulate the social relations in a way that it could ensure social collaboration and prevent, punish any offence against it. Several branches of law within this complex legal system have a different role, where criminal law means the sanction keystone and stands guard. However, to be able to understand the role of criminal law, we have to discover the environment that needs to be regulated and to understand the incentives of deviant behaviours within this change.

About harassment and cyber-stalking

Acta Juridica Hungarica
Author: Zoltán Szathmáry

The fact of harassment is a remarkable step in the complex protection of private sphere, but due to its novelty it is still difficult to adopt in practice. Among the most typical behaviours of harassment, the Criminal Code itself names the commitment through telecommunication tools that-referring to the title-means harassment through internet as an infocommunication system. The modern, digital communication facilities enable an informal communication among participants that hides reality. The single ways of communication (e-mail, chat) only have written basis, other sensors of cognition, perception do not play any role. As a result of the lack of social controll, one of the most significant hurdles of aggression, the social distress does not exist. Therefore some emotions (anger, jealousy) or aggression can be directed straight towards the target of the harassor. The internet can be a tool as well that the principal can use in order to gather personal information about the victim to make the subsequent harassment easier. These circumstances provide different opportunities to the harassor, therefore it is worth to deal detailed with this way of commitment. The suggestions and highlights of the study aim to eliminate the difficulties of law interpretation, to define the enforceable concept of private life, and to enable the possible realisation of the facts.

A további életút számára döntő a fiatal szociális tőkéje, a tágabb szociális kategóriához való tartozása és magának a javítóintézetnek a segítségnyújtási lehetőségei. Általában nehéz anyagi és szociális helyzetük miatt még a társadalomba beilleszkedő fiatalok élete is erős küszködések közepette zajlik.

The 20th century witnessed an increasing interest in psychoanalysis and, in relation to it, sexual deviances. Vienna had an outstanding role in this interest because it was where Sigmund Freud worked, and where the psychoanalytic society formed by his disciples was also active. In his volume from 1905, entitled Drei Abhandlungen zur Sexualtheorie, he listed certain forms of child sexuality as sexual deviances. At the same time, the arts often represented the child body both in its innocence, but often also as a sexual object. I think that the publication of a novel which was perceived as belonging to the category of child pornography in Vienna in 1906 can also be seen as part of this process, although it has been discussed earlier independently from other cultural or scientific processes of the turn-of-the-century Vienna. My paper attempts to place this novel into the above detailed context.

The magnitude of the impact of the incorrect setting of the starting azimuth on the gradients established by the Eötvös torsion balance was tested at two different kind of area. According to the results, gradients measured by the Eötvös torsion balance are extremely sensitive regarding the precise adjustment of the starting azimuth if the vectors of gradients are high. Furthermore, the worst deviances were experienced in the case of curvature gradients i.e. the most important gradients for geodetic use.

Purpose

The traditional Mediterranean diet (MD) is recognized worldwide as one of the healthiest existing dietary patterns. However, over the past few decades, a significant deviance from this diet has been observed in a number of Mediterranean countries. The purpose of this study was to assess the Spanish population’s degree of deviance from the MD and to explore the possible causes.

Materials and methods

A survey was completed by a total of 126 Spanish citizens over the age of 18 years. Dietary and lifestyle habits were assessed using MEDLIFE, a validated index, which was complemented with a questionnaire developed for this study, as well as a 24-hour recall.

Results

The mean MEDLIFE score of 15 ± 3.07 revealed the average adherence to the MD, while the maximum score was 28. This study showed no significant positive correlation between MEDLIFE scores and age. The mean ratio of macronutrient intake was 20%E protein, 47%E carbohydrates, and 33%E fat.

Conclusions

The results of the study indicate a deviation from several components of the MD. Low MD adherence could be associated with insufficient knowledge regarding the exact composition and health effects of the MD.

Abstract

In late seventeenth-century England Thomas Dangerfield took the Spanishpcaro as a role model in his effort, through literary self-portratiure, to gain acceptance and standing for his criminal life style. Calling himself a new and larger-than-life version of Guzmn de Alfarache, he employed the picaresque strategy of professing repentance for social and religious deviance while simultaneously plunging the reader into fantasies of delightful self-indulgence. Although critics of theGuzmn are divided on the question of whether the rogue's protestations of contrition are to be taken ironically, in Dangerfield's case a more pronounced self-glorification makes it clear that the reader is invited to redefine moral values. Just as inLazarillo de Tormes andDon Quixote, an author who is a social outsider calls for readers to think for themselves, thus pointing the way toward the modern novel.
