Összefoglaló. A felsőoktatás egyik legfontosabb feladata, hogy a munkaerőpiac által megkövetelt kompetenciákra felkészítse a hallgatókat, tehát a felsőoktatás, a munkaerőpiac, különösen a rendvédelmi szervek által képviselt speciális munkaerőpiac kongruenciájának kialakítása kiemelt figyelmet érdemel. A kompetenciák közül a 21. században megjelenő pozíciók ellátásához a digitális olvasás- és írástudás, valamint a kommunikáció fejlesztése elengedhetetlen. A kutatási téma célja a hallgatók digitális és verbális kommunikációs szintjének fejlesztése a szaknyelvi órák keretében különböző nyelvtanulási módszerek és nyelvtanulási stratégiák alkalmazásával. Tervezett kutatásunkban empirikus vizsgálatot végzünk a Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem Rendészettudományi Karán szaknyelvet tanuló nappali tagozatos hallgatókkal.

Summary. The main task of higher education is to prepare students for the competencies declared by the labour market, thus the development of congruence between higher education and labour market especially the special labour market represented by law enforcement deserves special attention. Among the competencies, digital skills are placed at the forefront, as digital literacy and communication are essential for 21st-century positions. The aim of the research topic is to improve students’ digital and verbal communication levels with the use of different language teaching methods and language learning strategies in ESP (English for specific purposes) classes. Empirical research will be carried out with full-time students at the Faculty of Law Enforcement at the University of Public Service.

Összefoglaló. A felsőoktatás egyik fontos feladata, hogy igazodjon a munkaerőpiac kihívásaihoz. Korábban még nem létező, digitális képességekre épülő pozíciók jelentek meg az utóbbi években, amelyek ellátásához a digitális olvasás- és írástudás, valamint a kommunikáció fejlesztése elengedhetetlen. A tanulmány célja a hallgatók jelenlegi digitális és verbális kommunikációs szintjének és azok fejlesztési lehetőségeinek bemutatása a rendészeti szaknyelvi órák keretében. Bemutatjuk a különböző nyelvtanítási módszerek és nyelvtanulási stratégiák alkalmazhatóságát, melyre építve ismertetjük a tervezett empirikus vizsgálatunk legfontosabb jellemzőit, melyet a Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem Rendészettudományi Karán a rendészeti szaknyelvet tanuló hallgatók körében valósítunk majd meg.

Summary. One of the main tasks of higher education is to adapt to the challenges of the labour market. New positions have emerged nowadays that can be filled only by those possessing appropriate digital and communication skills, thus these jobs require these skills on a daily basis. The aim of the study is to present the students’ actual digital and verbal communication level and the possible ways of their improvement in ESP (English for Specific Purposes) classes. We present the applicability of various language teaching methods and language learning strategies, and relying on them, we present the main characteristics of our planned empirical research that will be carried out with the students of the Faculty of Law Enforcement at the University of Public Service.

About harassment and cyber-stalking

The fact of harassment is a remarkable step in the complex protection of private sphere, but due to its novelty it is still difficult to adopt in practice. Among the most typical behaviours of harassment, the Criminal Code itself names the commitment through telecommunication tools that-referring to the title-means harassment through internet as an infocommunication system. The modern, digital communication facilities enable an informal communication among participants that hides reality. The single ways of communication (e-mail, chat) only have written basis, other sensors of cognition, perception do not play any role. As a result of the lack of social controll, one of the most significant hurdles of aggression, the social distress does not exist. Therefore some emotions (anger, jealousy) or aggression can be directed straight towards the target of the harassor. The internet can be a tool as well that the principal can use in order to gather personal information about the victim to make the subsequent harassment easier. These circumstances provide different opportunities to the harassor, therefore it is worth to deal detailed with this way of commitment. The suggestions and highlights of the study aim to eliminate the difficulties of law interpretation, to define the enforceable concept of private life, and to enable the possible realisation of the facts.

Abstract  

Advanced scientometric tools are moving from the realm of the privileged few with access to mainframe and minicomputers to the desktop of researchers equipped with personal computers. This shift is not only due to the decreasing cost and technological advances in PCs but the ready availability of a powerful multitasking operating system, a versatile text processing language and easy access to the Internet. Furthermore, the latest releases of PC software, such as Microsoft Excel, make it possible to develop graphical user interfaces into complex bibliometric data for a wide spectrum of researchers and policy analysts. Recent developments in digital communication, in particular, tools to access the Internet via the World Wide Web will provide even greater flexibility to those researchers wishing to make their scientometric data available to a diverse international audience. This paper examines how the BESST project developed a Desktop Scientometric environment using public domain, hardware independent software, prototyped a graphical user interface to provide easy access to UK sectoral level bibliometric data and gives a glimpse into future developments.

Abstract  

Sealed bid auctions are a popular means of high-stakes bidding, as they eliminate the temporal element from the auction process, allowing participants to take less emotional, more thoughtful decisions. In this paper, we propose a digital communication protocol for conducting sealed bid auctions with high stakes, where the anonymity of bids as well as other aspects of fairness must be protected. The Dining Cryptographers’ Protocol (denoted by DC) was presented by David Chaum in 1988. The protocol allows the participants to broadcast a message anonymously. In a recent paper (Another Twist in the Dining Cryptographers’ Protocol, submitted to the Journal of Cryptology) the authors propose a variant of the original DC eliminating its main disadvantages. In this paper we present a cryptographic protocol realizing anonymous sealed bid auctions, such as first price or Vickrey auction, based on this variant. The proposed scheme allows to identify at least one dishonest participant violating the protocol without using of Trusted Third Parties. Additionally, we require that bids are binding. It is achieved by enabling all participants acting in concert (the so-called “angry mob”) to find out the identity of the winner, in case the winner fails to make the purchase.

The main challenge in any high-speed digital communication system is how to maximize the data rate with minimizing the bit error rate. Several techniques have been developed to achieve this point. Some of these techniques are orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), single-carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE), orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), and single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA). These four techniques are described briefly in this paper. Also, the paper measures the performances of OFDMA and SC-FDMA systems over international telecommunication union (ITU) vehicular-A channel using minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalization. Simulation results show that the performances with interleaved mapping outperform that with localized mapping. Also, the performances with quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) are better than that with 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (16QAM). In addition, the performance of SC-FDMA is better than that of OFDMA, when QPSK is used, but the latter is little bit better than that of SC-FDMA when 16QAM is used.
