A nyolcvanas évek ifjúsági mozgalmai

The political activity of young people in the eighties

Educatio

Absztrakt:

Néhány létszférában viszont a hivatalos, intézményi működéstől független, spontán szerveződések is megjelentek. Ezek a maguk területein nem voltak előzmény nélküliek. A csöves-aluljárós csoportok, a vallási bázisközösségek, a békemozgalmak, egyes oktatási intézményekben önálló hallgatói képviseletre törekvő kis csoportok, végül a független ifjúsági szervezet létrehozását célzó szerveződések kis szigetek voltak az ifjúsági tömegben, de működésükből már akkor is levonhatók voltak közös tanulságok.

Recently, we marked 80 years since the first appearance of Molnar’s novel in Croatia (the translation by L. Matijević was published by Minerva in 1933). The novel was first published in 1906. Like other classical works of children’s literature that entered Croatian children’s literature, The Paul Street Boys had to be adapted to the literary and socio-historical context. Turbulent relations between Croatia and Hungary in the early 20th century, on one hand, and the changes in the social context, in particular after 1945, on the other hand, had a considerable impact on Croatian editions of the novel. This study focuses on censorship and adaptation of the text to the circumstances in which it was published. Interventions introduced by the translators and editors that very often went deep into the content of the novel did not have an adverse effect on the popularity of the book with the children’s audience. However, they certainly testify about the times when ideological correctness of the published book was paramount to all other considerations, even esthetical and ethical ones.

Abstract

This paper seeks to compare the research priorities of thirty three countries in five macrofields (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Engineering & Technology) in two time spans: 1980–1984 and 1985–1989. Comparative analysis is based on the distribution of publications in different fields. Since the raw counts of publications are confounded by the size of the countries and the size of the subject fields, a relative index — Research Priority Index (PI) — is computed for cross-national comparisons. Correspondence analysis is applied to the asymmetrical matrices of priority profiles to reveal the structure of multivariate relationships between countries and fields. The configurations for the two time-spans, obtained through correspondence analysis, are compared to reveal the dynamics of research priorities of these countries.
