Abstract  

In the vicinity of fold bifurcation points, the time-h exact and the stepsize-h discretized dynamics are shown to be equivalent via a two-parameter family of conjugacies. The problem of optimal conjugacy estimates remains open.

Thermodynamics of azurin folding

The role of copper ion

Abstract  

The role played by the metal ion in thermodynamics of azurin folding was addressed by studying the thermal denaturation of the apo-form by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and by comparing the results with data concerning the holo protein. The thermal unfolding experiments showed that at 25°C the presence of metal ion increases the thermodynamic stability of azurin by 24 kJ mol−1. A comparison between the unfolding and the copper binding free energies allow us to assert that the unfolded polypeptide chain binds copper and subsequently folds into native holo azurin, being this the thermodynamically most favourable process in driving azurin folding.

A cikk a földárak közgazdasági értékelésével foglalkozik. A tanulmányban három elméleti megközelítést tekintünk át. Röviden bemutatjuk az 1960-as években alkalmazott föld kereslet-kínálati függvények becslésére alapozó, úgynevezett strukturális modelleket, valamint a földterület környezetének, elhelyezkedésének kvalitatív tulajdonságait figyelembe vevő hedonikus árképzés modelleket. Ezután részletesen tárgyaljuk a nemzetközi földértékelés-irodalomban elterjedt, jelenérték-számításon alapuló modellcsaládot. A jelenérték modellek közgazdasági elméleti megalapozottsága ellenére az empirikus tanulmányok rendre a modellek alacsony magyarázóerejét emelik ki. Cikkünkben sorra vesszük az empirikus kutatásoknak a jelenérték modellek földérték-előrejelző teljesítményét javítani szándékozó alternatív modellspecifikációit, különös figyelmet szentelve az alkalmazott módszertanra. Mivel tanulmányunk a közgazdaságtan egy jelenleg is intenzíven kutatott területével foglalkozik, cikkünket nem az empirikus kutatásokra legalkalmasabb modell bemutatásával, hanem a további kutatások valószínű irányának az ismertetésével zárjuk.

The authors present their 30 years’ experience with expiration reflex. The reflex can be elicited from vocal folds by mechanical, chemical or electrical stimulation of the superior laryngeal nerve of man and laboratory animals, except mice and rats. It manifests itself by a short, forcible expiratory effort without a preceding inspiration which is indispensable for cough effort. The role of expiration reflex is to prevent penetration of foreign bodies into airways, expelling phlegm and detritus from subglottal area. The initial inspiration before expiration is undesired and could lead to inspiration pneumonia. The reflex is well known to laryngologists as „laryngeal cough.” Its receptors are small in number, localised mainly in medial margin of vocal folds deep in mucosa which can explain their stability in pathological conditions of the larygx. Afferentiation of the reflex is via laryngeal nerve similarly to sneezing and cough. Expiration reflex is not co-ordinated by a single „centre” but rather by a network system in the brain stem. Its motor pattern is supposedly produced by „multifunctional” population of medullar neurones in Bötzinger complex and the rostral ventral respiratory group involved also in the genesis of breathing and cough. However, in cats also other neurones may play a vital role in production, shaping and mediation of the motor pattern of respiratory reflex, localised in rostral pons, lateral tegmental field or in the raphe medullar midline.

In this paper we discuss the deformation retract of Buchdahi space into itself and onto a geodesics in Buchdahi space, we discuss also the deformation retract of Minkowski space into itself and onto a geodesics by using Lagrangian equations. We study also the isometric and topological folding in each case and the relation between the deformation retracts after and before folding have been discussed.
