1 Introduction Corpus-based translational research has provided ample evidence of translated language as a “third code” ( Frawley, 1984 ), a variety separate from non-translated language. This third code shows traces of cross-linguistic interference

of interference from specific linguistic systems” (Baker 1993:242, emphasis added). However, Gideon Toury put forward a “law of interference” (Toury 2012:310), along with a “law of growing standardization” (ibid:303), as a possible universal trait of

Abstract

Calculations of some first- and second-order interferences at various values of the cadmium ratio (R) have been performed for cases important in activation analysis. A sharp nonlinear dependence of second-order reaction yields on low R values has been shown. Calculated yields for some reactions have been studied experimentally.

Abstract

A method to resolve the interferences resulting from (n, ), (n, p) and (n, ) reactions was developed. The aluminum-silicon-phosphorus reactions were examined in detail. An analysis of the reactions and the resulting isotope concentrations, as well as the associated errors, led to a method for accounting for the interfering isotopes. Experiments showed aluminum concentrations were accurately determined even when silicon and phosphorus interferences were present. When one of the interferences was negligible and the other was within a range determined by the method, the concentration of the interfering element could also be determined.

Abstract

Same nuclide interference (gamma emitting isotopes that are identical to the parent and/or daughter products of irradiation) corrections are discussed in INAA. The corrections account for production rate, decay, parent/daughter growth and equilibrium and the effect of the corrections on the reported uncertainties.

Linguistic works dealing with research of language contacts and interference use a term atrophy which indicates various changes connected with a permissiveness of norm a minority (isolated) language. In the United States of America also the Slovak language (Slovak dialects) exists as a minority language. In this paper some examples of atrophic changes in word-formation level are presented.
