Radiation damage to lymphocyte membranes
II. Structural changes of lipid domain after low doses of high let irradiation
Abstract
The changdes of some physical parameters of lymphocyte membranes following neutron irradiation from a252Cf sourcein vitro in range of very low doses were studied. We aimed our attention at fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarisation, microviscosity and order parameter of lipid bilayer of lymphocyte membranes. The values of above mentioned parameters were obtained by means of fluorescent spectrometry using 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH) as a fluorescent probe. It was shown, that with increasing doses of radiation the values of all studied parameters have been decreasing. The microviscosity of membranes decreased to 37% of the control value.
