A tanulmány a rendszerváltás jelenségét a modernizáció összefüggésében kísérli meg értelmezni azon kutatások eredményeire alapozva, amelyek a XIX. század elejétől kapitalizálódni kényszerülő hazai fejlődést több modernizációs korszakra bontják. Ezen kutatások nem csupán a kiegyezés utáni vagy a két világháború közti időszakot tekintik modernizációs korszaknak, hanem az állam-szocialista berendezkedést is, továbbá az 1989–90-es rendszerváltást követően máig kialakult-kialakított félperifériás globálkapitalizmus-variánst is. A szerző felveti, hogy a rendszerváltó politikai elit különböző csoportjai vajon ebben a történeti perspektívában közelítettek-e a nyolcvanas-kilencvenes évek fordulójának kihívásaihoz, avagy ezek halmazából indulataiknak, érdekeiknek, felkészültségüknek, ideológiáiknak stb. megfelelően önkényesen válogattak-válogathattak.

Companies are facing a rapidly changing and ever more challenging environment. Globalization, together with a shifting political landscape, is combining with major transformations in population, urbanization, resource utilization, climate change and consumer attitudes. Through the evolution of communications networks there is growing connectivity that with the rise of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) results in an increasingly transparent society. Socially responsible investors combining forces with the media and NGOs have emerged as a major force compelling firms through the capital markets toward a more environment friendly behaviour. The global food industry is especially susceptible to climate change and shifting consumer attitudes and thus has to increasingly respond to external stakeholders in order to remain competitive. How did attitudes and perceptions change in recent years toward the industries environmental performance and how did this influence their financial results? Our research investigates forty-six global food industry companies.

Abstract

Based on an outline of the major transformations in modern Chinese children’s literature throughout the past 100 years, this paper analyzes changes, tendencies and problems in Chinese children’s literary creation and literary studies from the mid-1990s to the present. In this era of globalization and commercialism, Chinese writers for children seem to be divided into three groups, the steadfast guardians of pure literary creation, market-driven commercialized writers, and frustrated self-questioners. Since the 1990s, with unprecedented passion, creativity, and dedication, Chinese writers have produced many excellent original works for children. However, compared with Western classic works for children, Chinese children’s literature in general suffers from a thematic and aesthetic deficiency. Lack of profound themes and ingenious artistic techniques plagues most of China’s original creations. What is the direction of Chinese children’s literature in the age of globalization? What does it need? Quantity or quality? Westernization or localization? Pure literary creation or commercially-oriented writing? Literary or cultural studies?

Summary

The widespread use of the pharmaceutical metformin for diabetes therapy has led to finding its way into many surface waters up to the μg L−1 range and subsequently into different water treatment processes. In this study, metformin was treated with hypochlorite on the laboratory scale, and the resulting transformation products were investigated with the umu assay in a microtiter plate, where a genotoxic effect was detected. For the characterization of this genotoxic effect, the sample was separated using high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC), and 29 zones over the whole retardation area were extracted from the HPTLC plate with the thin-layer chromatography-mass spectrometry (TLC-MS) Interface. Then, the umu assay was performed again with each extracted zone, such that the genotoxic effect in the sample could be assigned to a certain zone. By the measurement of this effective zone with high-performance liquid chromatography with high-resolution mass spectrometry and by performing a non-target screening, the effective substance could be identified as a cyclic dehydro-1,2,4-triazole derivate with an intense yellow color. This substance formerly was found by Armbruster et al. (Water Research, 2015), which is a major transformation product of chlorine-treated metformin.
