Abstract  

Adsorption isotherms and differential heats of adsorption of tetrahydropyrrol (THP) and cyclopentane CP), as well as THP and methanol mixtures (mole ratio 1∶1, 1∶2 and 1∶4) on the graphitized carbon black Sterling MT surface were determined. The influence of dilution of [THP] on its ability to undergo homomolecular association was tested. Even 1∶4 dilution of THP does not prevent is association. Methanol strongly interacts with THP in the mixed adsorbed layer forming heteromolecular associates.

Abstract  

The thermal decomposition of FeS2 and BaO2 mixtures (mol ratio from 2 to 8) was studied in oxygen containing gas medium using dynamic heating rate. The solid decomposition products have been investigated with X-ray power diffraction and Mssbauer spectrometer. The thermal process has two main stages. In the presence of BaO2 the mixtures have a lower initial temperature of iron sulfide burning. The same time by the increasing of BaO2 content in the mixtures the diffusion difficulties are withdrawn in higher temperature ranges. It is proved that as intermediates BaSO4, nonstoichiometric sulfide, barium ferrites and Fe2O3 are formed. The content of many solid phases in the final product is in relationship with the initial ratio of BaO2 and FeS2.

Abstract  

The ultrasonic velocity of the ternary mixtures ethanol+water+1-propanol at the range 288.15–323.15 K and atmospheric pressure, has been measured over the whole concentration range. The corresponding change of isentropic compressibility was computed from the experimental data. The results were fitted by means of a temperature dependent equation, such parameters being gathered. The obtained experimental values indicate varying extent of interstitial accommodation among unlike molecules as a function of steric hindrance attending to 1-propanol composition as key component and as a function of hydrogen bond and temperature attending to ethanol composition as key component.
