A cikk áttekinti az MTA Debreceni Területi Bizottságának történetét a megalakulástól (1976. január 6.) napjainkig. Az alapítás történetének feldolgozását követően az egyes elnökségek tevékenységén keresztül mutatjuk be a Debreceni Területi Bizottság működését és helykeresését.

The article reviews the history of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Regional Committee in Debrecen from its foundation (6 January 1976) to the present. After the history of the foundation, the activities and the pursuits of the successive presidencies are presented in order to illustrate the functioning and positioning of the Regional Committee in Debrecen.
