The first Comparative Health Sciences Symposium was held in Budapest, Hungary in May 2017. The symposium was organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences of Semmelweis University for experts in health sciences under the patronage of the Head of the Faculty, Professor Zsolt Zoltán Nagy.
The purpose of the series of these Comparative Health Sciences Symposia is to bring together clinical and research experts from health sciences to present remarkable developments, innovative methods, and new research programmes, as well as to promote professional discourse.
The first symposium focused on “Outstanding methods in early movement development.” The representatives of the most prestigious methodological centres in early intervention were invited to deliver speeches from Early Intervention Centre Budapest, András Pető Faculty of Semmelweis University, Dévény Anna Foundation, Szent Margit Hospital (Katona Method), Gezenguz Foundation, 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Heim Pál Children’s Hospital, and Buda Children’s Hospital. In addition, the University of Physical Education and the National Academy of Handball were also represented with a presentation on spatial analysis of movements.
The presenters agreed that it is very important to establish a standardised patient journey based on the standards, protocols, and recommendations of different methods in early intervention. Furthermore, it was also concluded that there is a fundamental demand for complex diagnostics in early movement development.
