A szénhidrátszegény transzferrin meghatározása a rendszeres, napi 60 grammot meghaladó alkoholfogyasztás bizonyítására használatos, elsősorban a biztosítás-orvostanban. A szénhidrátszegény transzferrinszázalék értéke azonban nagyon sokszor emelkedett más okok miatt is. Célok: Jelen munkában a szerzők az úgynevezett táplálékkiegészítők és a doppinglistákon is szereplő szereknek a szénhidrátszegény transzferrinszázalék, átlagos vörösvérsejt-térfogat és gamma-glutamil-transzpeptidáz-értékeket befolyásoló hatását vizsgálták. Módszer: A vizsgálatban két sportklubban 15 testépítő és 10 ökölvívó szénhidrátszegény transzferrinszázalék-, átlagos vörösvértesttérfogat- és gamma-glutamil-transzpeptidáz-értékeit határozták meg, a vizsgált személyek valamennyien férfiak voltak. Eredmények: A 15, alkoholt nem fogyasztó testépítő és 10 ökölvívó részletes anamnézise alapján sikerült bizonyítani, hogy a testépítő személyeknél a szénhidrátszegény transzferrinszázalék-érték – vélhetően az általuk használt doppinglistán található szerek miatt – a bokszolók esetében mért értékek kétszerese. Következtetés: Ma még nem teljesen tisztázott, hogy a különböző gyógyszerek és vegyszerek milyen módon befolyásolják a szénhidrátszegény transzferrinszázalék-értékeket.
