A mérsékelt alkoholfogyasztás csökkenti a cardiovascularis halálozást az átlagpopulációban. Viszonylag kevés vizsgálat jelent meg a fehérbor inzulinérzékenységre gyakorolt hatásával kapcsolatban. Célkitűzés: A szerzők a kis mennyiségű Pintes fehérbor fogyasztásának inzulinérzékenységre és egyéb anyagcsere-paraméterekre gyakorolt hatását vizsgálták. Módszer: A prospektív vizsgálatban 18 metabolikus szindrómás beteg vett részt. A betegek négy héten át Pintes bort fogyasztottak. A borfogyasztás előtt, illetve után meghatározták a klinikai paramétereket. Eredmények: A HOMA-IR szignifikáns mértékű csökkenést mutatott a fehérbor fogyasztását követően (2,28±2,04 vs. 1,08±0,6; p = 0,002). Nem változott a szérum összes koleszterin, az LDL-koleszterin, a triglicerid és az éhomi plazma vércukor szintje sem.
