50-year history of kidney transplantation in Hungary

Ötven évvel ezelőtt történt Magyarországon az első veseátültetés, amelyet 1962-ben Németh András végzett Szegeden. 2012-től Magyarország részlegesen csatlakozott az Eurotransplant szervezetéhez, amely – úgy hisszük – ismét korszakváltást jelent a magyarországi szervátültetés történetében. Ennek kapcsán a szerzők áttekintik az elmúlt 50 év eseményeit, fordulópontjait, felelevenítve az első veseátültetés hátterét, körülményeit. Az első veseátültetés során a donor a recipiens testvére volt, a műtét technikailag sikeres volt, azonban immunszuppresszió hiányában 79 nap után kilökődés következtében és dialíziskezelés hiányában a beteget elvesztették. A donor 50 év után is jó egészségnek örvend, és mindenkit a donációra biztat. Egy évtizeddel az első veseátültetés után, 1973-ban Budapesten elkezdődött a szervezett veseátültetési program, most már minisztériumi támogatással. A programhoz 1979-ben csatlakozott Szeged, 1991-ben Debrecen, majd 1993-ban Pécs is. Hazánkban jelenleg is ez a négy vesetranszplantációs központ működik, ahol 2012. december végéig összesen 6611 veseátültetés történt. Orv. Hetil., 2013, 154, 846–849.
